About HBALC : The Home Builders Association of Livingston County (HBALC) is a not-for-profit professional organization representing its members while addressing the interests of the building industry and the community-at-large. As the voice for the building industry, the mission of the HBALC is to support and enhance the economic growth and quality of life in our community.                               Mission Goals Protect private property rights for all citizens.         Promote affordable homeownership.         Promote professionalism, competency and goodwill throughout the industry.         Promote the positive image and public awareness of the association and the industry. Chartered in 1970, the HBALC is affiliated with the Michigan Association of Home Builders (MAHB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Directions to the HBALC Office From Detroit, Lansing or Ann Arbor take I-96, Exit 145 to Grand River Avenue. Take Grand River South approximately 3 miles into downtown Brighton. We are located on the right side of the road between Main Street and North Street, across from Stout's Irish Pub.
